I don't have anything super insightful to say but I thought I would update just in general.
The weather down here is in the 100's...yesterday was 110. REALLY?!! With the weather being so warm I haven't worked at the restaurant in 3 weeks. We have a pretty clean house and the laundry hasn't piled up at all. I really enjoy being on top of that. This last weekend we went through the boxes in our office closet that we haven't gone through since we moved from Idaho...3 years ago! So we have been moving these boxes from Idaho to our apartment in Oregon...from our apartment in Oregon to our house in Oregon...to Arizona. It's time to part with STUFF. It is a very cleansing experience. It also was inspired by watching Horders.
Also being at home I have found a few critters that decided to try to move in without paying rent. A few weeks ago I was walking into our office and I saw a little brown spot on the floor and when I walked by I didn't have my contacts in. I just thought I needed to clean the floors. However, I leaned over to see what it was and was totally grossed out to find a cockroach. I just about puked when I saw it. I HATE roaches!! Once I discovered the critter (already dead) I didn't even go near the office or bathroom the whole day...yes...I went upstairs all day to use the restroom.
Last week we had a service come out and spray the outside of the house and there are systems installed in house walls where they can spray stuff in the walls to have pest control. Two days ago (fortunately I had my contacts in) I walked by the office and saw a critter and when I looked closer I discovered a scorpion. Fortunately I had some scorpion spray in the bathroom (next to the office) and well he didn't last long in our house. The pest people came back out and sprayed the inside of the house and disposed of the critter.
This weekend my nephew and niece will be visiting with my parents. I'm excited to see them and have a little fun! I'm so tempted to teach them a few things....but I fear the retaliation from my sister. So I'll be good. We are going to build forts, go swimming, go see Cars, bake some cookies, and wrestle!
Next week Erik and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary! We are still amazed at the journey we have taken through these 3 years. I did not imagine or could even plan everything that has happened these three years. I wouldn't want to take this adventure with anyone else. The weekend of the fourth of July we are going to Vegas with our dear friends from Portland. We are excited for a little get away to celebrate our anniversary and spend time with friends.
Well...that's about it...longer than I thought.
